"Travel Agents Care" is a multi-faceted initiative between ASTA and Global Volunteers to promote volunteer service travel as a unique opportunity for travelers to experience new places, people and cultures while making a positive contribution to the world.

ASTA and Global Volunteers are working together to provide professional travel agents with the information, education and tools to help them identify and serve the growing number of Americans interested in this rewarding new way to spend their vacation time. We also will cooperate in a proactive public education campaign to raise awareness of volunteer service travel opportunities.

Among the initiatives planned as part of the new program:

• Travel Agents Care Month, a series of community service activities.
• Shared links on the TravelSense.org and GlobalVolunteers.org Web sites.
• Extensive consumer-oriented information about volunteer service travel on the TravelSense.org Web site.
• Development of a new travel agent education program through Global Volunteers.
